Heinz Bormann from DBO wrote to us: “Today, March 20, 2024, we delivered the first 20 computers to the Interior Academy. You did a really great job packaging them! Many thanks again”
On Wednesday, 24.01.2024, we were once again able to load a container with donated goods on behalf of the Freundeskreis Malawi und Städtepartnerschaft Hannover-Blantyre e.V.. This is again destined for the Jacaranda School in Blantyre / Malawi. The transport was made possible by a transportation grant from Engagement Global, Bonn.
As with previous transports, we helped with some of the collection, but also with the professional packaging of the donations, with the application to Engagement Global and with the preparation of the packing list for the container, as well as with communication with the shipping company.
We are delighted that this transport was also completed successfully.
This time the container was loaded with, among other things:
Aids – walking aids, commode chair
Musical instruments – accordion, guitar, piano, organ, electric piano, drums
Musical equipment – lighting, loudspeakers, amplifiers
Sewing machines – electric case & cabinet sewing machines
Tools – band saw, various hand machines, garden tools, planer, stationary drill, jigsaw
Rollators, wheelchairs, bicycles for the disabled, bicycles, children’s bicycles and scooters provide mobility.
On Friday, 19.01.2024, the presentation date for loading a 40′ container with donated goods for the Dresden-Banjul Organization (DBO) took place in Hildesheim.
Among other things, the container contained
Crockery for the Blue Kitchen restaurant
A professional bakery oven and baking bags for a bakery
Desktop computers with screens, desks and chairs for a school
Medical equipment for a dental practice
Hospital beds with bedside cabinets, medical accessories and medical consumables for a hospital
5 pallets of tiles
90 bicycles
3 power generators
Various hand tools and accessories
After a long period of planning, a 40′ container left our premises on 28.12.2023 bound for the Kiryandongo refugee settlement. Its contents are intended to equip the hospital structure there.
As already reported, the transport took place in cooperation with Dr. Eberhard Rumpf from Burgdorf and Mr. Thomas Müßel from Hannover, who are supported by the documentation center on war events and peace work Sievershausen e.V..
The container contained hospital beds, operating tables, examination tables, bedside cabinets, medical accessories, medical consumables, an autoclave and a hot-air sterilizer as well as wheelchairs and a rollator.
We are optimistic that this will further improve the health situation of the people in the Kiryandongo refugee settlement.
On September 8, 2020, we sent 3 boxes filled with tools to the Association for the Integral Development of the Houdou Community (L’Association pour le Développement Intégrale de la Communauté Houdou – ADICH) in Togo on behalf of Chantal Kloecker from Lernen-Helfen-Leben e.V..
These tools were intended for the Efido project. In this project, tools are lent to local craftsmen. This help for self-help is intended to improve their living situation. We have now received these photos.
A happy day for Eritrea: On 02.11.2023 we loaded a 40′ container with valuable donations. Thanks to the support of our friends from Labora and the Department of Social Affairs – Promotion of Employment of the City of Hannover “Tools for Africa”, we were able to provide enough bicycles for the Eritrean people.
Pedal sewing machines and leather sewing machines are intended to help the aid recipients to build up their own livelihoods.
And for those who can no longer ride a bicycle due to injury or disability, wheelchairs and rollators are among the many donations.
In total, the transport carried out in Hildesheim consists of 150 bicycles, 20 rollators, 20 wheelchairs, 46 treadle sewing machines as well as 3 leather sewing machines and 20 filled toolboxes for metal workshops.
Another 40′ container with 300 bicycles and bicycle spare parts that we applied for from Engagement Global will be loaded by our friends from the Eritrean Association for the Physically Disabled in Stuttgart, represented by its second chairman Fetzum Woldegherghis, in Stuttgart.
We are convinced that these donations will make a positive difference to the lives of the Eritrean people.
We received a donation of €600.00 from the members of IG Metall at Robert Bosch GmbH and KSM Castings Group GmbH.
Managing Director Sabine Jäger accepted the check. We were very pleased about this.
Our association is committed to improving the living conditions of people in Third World countries.
In cooperation with Dr. Eberhard Rumpf from Burgdorf and Mr. Thomas Müßel from Hannover, who are supported by the documentation center on war events and peace work Sievershausen e.V., we are organizing an aid transport to Uganda.
There we want to equip the hospital structure of the Kiryandongo refugee settlement with beds and medical equipment. The hospital urgently needs these donations in order to provide patients with the best possible treatment.
On February 15, our first transport for the year 2023 left the premises of Arbeit und Dritte Welt. The 40′ container was packed for the Dresden-Banjul organization. Its destination was Banjul in The Gambia.
For a truck training workshop, we sent a truck engine, various truck spare parts, operating materials and electrical and manual tools, among other things.
A preschool receives school desks and chairs. The preschools set up by Heinz Bormann serve the purpose of teaching the official language, English, to children under the age of 7 from the rural areas of The Gambia, where many different languages are spoken.
Mobility in The Gambia is provided by 106 bicycles. We received these from our friends at the Promotion of Employment of the City of Hannover “Tools for Africa”.
