Members of the DGB Burgdorf had invited to a press conference on June 14, 2012: the first tool collection was to take place in Hänigsen. Under the leadership of local branch chairman Manfred Scheller, everything was well prepared.
Even before the collection was to take place, some people had gotten wind of it and immediately brought along the first donations: toolboxes, saws and hand tools.
