ADW receives award from the city of Hildesheim

On March 13, 2017, we were presented with the family seal during a ceremony in the town hall. Our company is barrier-free and offers flexible working hours for single parents. We were delighted to receive this award and consider ourselves to be in good company with the many others who have been honored. We attach a photo from the press office of the city of Hildesheim.

“Soziale Stadt Stadtfeld” funding program presented

On February 28, the “Soziale Stadt Stadtfeld” funding program was presented to the public by the head of the building department, Mr. Brummer, and the head of the social department, Mr. Spitzer.

We were very pleased that this event took place in our factory building. We have been active in Stadtfeld since December 1999 – it all started with the preparation of a piece of land leased from the city of Hildesheim for the construction of our workshop. Apart from undergrowth and various trees, there was nothing here at first.

The poor infrastructural condition of the area and the fact that the residents were left to their own resources caused us concern and discomfort right from the start – and children used our site as an adventure playground. The resulting conflicts have not yet been resolved, as damage is also caused by vandalism, which costs us dearly time and again.

We hope that infrastructure and structural improvements as well as the possibility of being able to finance smaller offers for the people in the neighborhood will provide positive and sustainable impulses. The program is set to run for several years.

1 x 20′ container to Benoye / Chad

For the association Lernen-Helfen-Leben, we packed a wide range of accessories for a photovoltaic system that will supply electricity to an LHL project (construction of a SEK-1 school) in the town of Benoye in Chad.

The accessories had a load weight of over 7 tons, including 20 batteries weighing 68 kg each. We managed to stow everything according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

On December 13, 2016 at 8:00 a.m., the container was transported to Hamburg with the help of a self-loading truck. Beforehand, we had to have the container moved to fit this truck.

In Hamburg, the container was loaded onto the CSAV Toconao at HHLA Terminal Burchardkai with destination Douala. From there it will then travel overland to Benoye.

Bakery for The Gambia

Master baker Klaus Peter from Essen organized the delivery of a bakery for the Dresden-Banjul-Organization (DBO) to us. This included a baking oven weighing around 4 tons.

Loading the oven was a major challenge for us. We loaded it together with tools, bicycles, blackboards, road construction machinery (donated by the city of Hannover), welding transformers and power generators.

We also shipped 7 complete windows that we were able to salvage from a demolition on the Magdalenenhof site.
